Worship & Arts

Got Skills? Worship & Arts needs instrumentalists to play in the band & orchestra for our weekend services. Do you play an instrument? We need you! We need people who play all instruments: guitar, piano, drums, percussion, strings, brass, woodwinds…..All of them. To get involved, we simply need to schedule an interview so that we can sit down and talk about our philosophy of ministry and play some music together. If all of that goes well we can get you included in the schedule soon. Email worship@mpccministry.com to schedule a time. This is a very exciting time to be involved in worship at MPCC and we hope you will prayerfully consider joining the team!

Men's Prison Ministry

Location:  Indianapolis Re-entry Educational Facility (IREF)
The facility is located just east of downtown Indianapolis on New York street.
All residents at this prison facility are within 3 years of their release date.  The mission of the facility is to prepare the men for re-entry into society which is why the need for community volunteers is so great.  The more contact the men have with volunteers from the outside, the better they will be equipped when the time comes for their release.

Service opportunities:

1.  Mentoring - This is the single biggest need at the facility and involves being paired with a resident at the facility whom you meet with for 1 hour on a weekly basis.  Mentoring topics can include:  goal setting, job discussions, faith, fathering, or any need/interest the resident has.  No special skills are required beyond a desire to help others and the ability to be a good listener.  The time commitment is small but the impact is enormous for both you and your mentee.

2.  Monthly church services - The men from MPCC participate in a worship service at the facility on the 4th Sunday of every month.  This is a time when we can worship alongside the men at the facility, praying with them, and simply showing them that we care about them.  Time commitment is 3-4 hours once per month.

3.  Serve as a dorm chaplain - This role would include leading Bible studies, getting to know the men in a particular dorm, and being available for prayer and consultation.  Time commitment would be 2-4 hours per week.
