Worship & Arts Ministry Objective

Our purpose is to provide dynamic worship experiences for the congregation of MPCC. It is our goal to utilize music, technology, strategic planning and other creative elements to draw people to the Lord in corporate worship. We strive for excellence in both process and product.

Our Four-fold Purpose for MPCC Worship Services: (1) God-focused; (2) Engage the People;

(3) Excellence; (4) Seamless.

We believe that genuine and authentic heartfelt worship can be a powerful tool for evangelism. We believe that authentic worship is undeniable.

To that end, we are committed to embracing these 15 values as a team. We will live by these values as we work together to lead the congregation of MPCC in worship. These values will serve as our measuring stick for evaluation and will set the standard of our expectations for participation in Worship & Arts.

Preparation - We commit to being prepared Spiritually, Musically & Technically.

Authenticity - We commit that our public worship leadership will be an outgrowth of our genuine and authentic private daily worship.

Character - We commit to be people of the highest character both on and off the platform.

Communication - We commit to strive for excellence in communication with the congregation as we lead and also with one another as we work together by following Biblical examples.

Leadership - We recognize that leadership from the platform places additional responsibility upon us.

Promptness - We commit to being on time, recognizing that a published rehearsal time is when we are to begin rehearsal and that we need to arrive prior to that time to prepare for rehearsal.

Spiritual Discipline - We commit to daily prayer time, Bible study and all the things valued by MPCC.

Teamwork - We commit to working together and supporting one another so that God may be honored in our process as well as our product.

Excellence - We commit to do all that we can to offer the most excellent gift we are capable of unto the Lord.

Boundaries / Priorities - We commit to working together within healthy Biblical and relational boundaries, keeping these values as top priority.

Humility - We commit to offering our gifts back to God as humble servants. We recognize that God has entrusted us with these gifts and we offer them back to Him. We will remain open to constructive criticism that is offered to enhance our leadership.

Humor - We recognize that humor can be great for team building and we commit to use it for good and never to tear another team member down.

Relationships / Community - We commit to building healthy relationships within the team, praying for one another and helping to carry the burdens of other team members.

Flexibility - We commit to holding on to our gifts loosely. We know that there will be a definite plan but that there are times when that plan needs to change.

Worship -vs- Performance - We value leading by example in worship. God is our audience and it is our goal to lead the congregation in an intimate encounter with Him. We are not “performing” for the congregation but leading them through a life-changing experience of worship.

Worship Choir

One of our ministry teams is the Worship Choir. This is a group of people who sing in our weekend services about one weekend every month from September through May.

The Worship Choir is also a tremendous part of our seasonal services and special productions at Christmas and Easter.

Experience levels vary in the Worship Choir and it does not require an audition to participate. All we ask for is a 30-minute interview where you can share your heart and we can share ours.

When & Where are rehearsals?

Rehearsals take place every Wednesday evening from 7:30-8:30 pm in the Chapel.

If you love to sing and make a joyful noise the Worship Choir is a great place to plug in! To find out more or to schedule an interview, contact worship@mpcc.info.

Vocal Community

Another of our ministry teams is the Vocal Community. This is an auditioned group of singers who serve as worship leaders, praise team vocalists & ensemble vocalists. From this group of artists we provide special music in our weekend services and special productions.

Members of the Vocal Community are scheduled for weekend services 6 weeks in advance. In the weeks leading up to your weekend you will have access to printed music and mp3 files through our online planning system, Planning Center Online (PCO).

When & Where are rehearsals for my scheduled weekend?
Rehearsals take place every Wednesday evening from 6:00-7:30 pm in the Music Suite. Special rehearsals may also be scheduled for ensemble pieces.

Worship Band

Providing the musical foundation for our worship experience is the Worship Band. This is a group of musicians who play guitar, bass, piano, keyboards, drums and percussion. This auditioned group is scheduled for weekend services 6 weeks in advance.

We also regularly include other instruments in our weekend services (strings, brass & other wind instruments) and would love to talk with you about getting involved.

Drama

Drama can be a powerful way to make the subject matter of our services more approachable. A powerfully and strategically programmed dramatic moment can capture the essence of a Biblical text in such a way that it is undeniable.

We use drama on a seasonal basis that is coordinated with our current emphasis. To find out more about Drama opportunities or to schedule an audition, contact worship@mpcc.info.

Worship Programming

We utilize the latest in audio, lighting, media and video technology to support our weekend services at MPCC. The Media & Technical team is made up of both staff and volunteer servants that are here to make The Gospel message accessible to every single person who attends our services. Our services would not look the same without the behind-the-scenes work of these wonderfully gifted and committed people. From camera operators to video and lighting technicians to sound operators, the Media & Technical team helps to enhance the worship experience by creating an atmosphere that allows people to meet with God.

If you have an interest in technology and how it can be used to share The Gospel, we would love have you join the team! Prior experience is great but not necessary. We are committed to providing the training that you need to help make you a valued part of the team.

If you are interested in finding out more information or scheduling an interview, please contact worship@mpcc.info.

Worship @ MPCC

At MPCC our Mission is: Changing the World One Life, One Family, One Opportunity at a time. One of the strategies we embrace that will help to accomplish that mission is that we want to be a church of dynamic worship. We believe that genuine, heartfelt worship is the Biblical response of grateful hearts to a loving and merciful God.
