faith formation

FAITH FORMATION IS THE PROCESS OF BECOMING MORE LIKE CHRIST FOR THE SAKE OF OTHERS.

"...until Christ is formed in you."   Galatians 4:19
Faith Formation is MPCC's ministry to believers in Jesus Christ who want to take next steps in growing in their faith and in becoming more like Christ for the sake of others. A variety of classes are available that focus on Biblical and Theological studies, personal spiritual growth and Christian living, and specialized ministry training. These classes that meet both in our learning spaces at the Greenwood campus and online will encourage you to explore the important truths of the faith and inspire you to receive the valuable knowledge needed to live a life fully devoted to Jesus. Bible boot camp online

The All New Bible Boot Camp Online
Totally refreshed and ready for 2024, Bible Boot Camp online is a self-paced walk through the Bible in a chronological way while simultaneously learning how to study the Bible.

The Gospels of Jesus

This six-week class is an overview of the four gospel accounts of the life and ministry of Jesus in the New Testament. We will discuss the similarities and differences between the gospels and whether we should compare these accounts. We will also discuss questions like, "Why are there only four gospels that were canonized if there were more gospels written?" The class will go over each gospel and summarize each theme. The goal is to learn more about the life of Jesus and his ministry through the eyes of these marvelous writers who knew Him intimately well. This class is perfect as we prepare ourselves for the upcoming Passion Week of Christ and our Easter celebration.

How To Study the Bible

This laboratory setting on How to Study the Bible will be part of our Faith Formation lineup this spring. Bring your favorite Bible passage (a whole section within a chapter), for you will be working on that one passage the entire time. We will teach you how to examine the Bible, share with you what sources to trust for interpretation, and illustrate how to apply the Bible to your life. Bring a Study Bible with you (NIV Study Bible preferred). Classes/Workshops begin Sunday, April 21, at 9am in C101/102 and will run for five consecutive Sundays, ending on Sunday, May 19.
