Below is a list of teams we offer at Mount Pleasant:

WELCOME TEAM

The Welcome Team includes our First Impressions team, our Greeters and Section Hosts, Parking Hosts, and our Guest Connections volunteers. Weekend availability is needed.

CHILDREN’S MINISTRY

Reaching children from infant through grade four, Bibleopolis is our interactive and engaging children’s ministry. Our unique environment is designed to echo the streets of Jerusalem and mirror the countryside of Galilee. We want our children to have the opportunity to “Grow up like Jesus!”

The Children’s Ministry Team needs people who can serve as preschool and elementary group assistants, give care to our nursery and toddler-aged children, and serve at the Bibleopolis Welcome Center.

COMMUNITY LIFE CENTER

Our Community Life Center right across the street is an amazing workout facility with something for everyone. Our space includes two full-size basketball courts, a weight and cardio room, fitness classes, an elevated indoor track, a game room, student areas and personal training.

We need coaches, assistants, child care personnel, fitness instructors, CLIMB (our ministry to those with Parkinson’s Disease) assistant volunteers, practice supervisors, game day supervisors, referees (must be licensed), people to run the scoreboard and a host of other opportunities that relate to sports and fitness.

CONGREGATIONAL CARE

We provide care for those who are experiencing difficulties in life. Life gets hard sometimes, and we as a church want to be an encouragement and a support system when those trials occur. We offer a variety of services to our congregation in those challenging seasons. Areas can include home and hospital visits, funerals, weddings and premarital counseling.

FINANCIAL FREEDOM

Our mission for the Financial Freedom Ministry is to provide Biblically-based financial resources for our members to become excellent stewards (managers) of God’s money. No matter where you are in your stewardship journey, we offer classes, seminars, and coaching to help you become a better manager of the resources God has entrusted to you. Help others by becoming a financial coach, or overseeing any of our classes, seminars, or workshops.

GROUPS MINISTRY

As Christians, we’re called to be disciples and to make disciples. This command comes from Jesus (Matthew 28:19-20) and it is as simple as following Him. However, we know it is not always easy. One of the ways we strive to accomplish discipleship is through our Groups. We should never be alone in our quest to become more like Jesus. You can host and lead a Group in your home or another suitable location for a season of Groups. We provide a variety of curriculum options for Groups two times a year (seasons) in winter/spring and again in fall/winter. We take a Thanksgiving and Christmas break as well as a summer break.

HANDS AND FEET

A service ministry of our Women’s Ministry that reaches out in many ways through special projects.

IMPACT BETHANY

IMPACT Bethany has a rich history in the community and has been a part of the Indianapolis area for over 100 years. There are a variety of ways you can help this ministry continue to grow and make an IMPACT in the lives of others who call this church home and a place to gather. You can help serve at Youth Nights; an evening dedicated to focusing on our elementary and high school youth, along with multiple opportunities to volunteer at events throughout the year.

IMPACT CENTER

This is a place to help make an IMPACT in the lives of over 300 families weekly providing food and clothing to the greater Greenwood community. Help is needed stocking shelves, sorting clothes, interviewing candidates, sharing a devotion, providing snacks, and serving on the hospitality team. There is so much to do throughout the week to prepare for our IMPACT Thursdays, and IMPACT Saturdays. This is a great place to serve if you want to reach those beyond the walls of the church.

IMPACT FAIRFAX

IMPACT Fairfax, located on the near west side of Indianapolis, is a restart of Fairfax Christian Church which has been a part of the community for over 100 years. Our vision for ministry in Fairfax is to live, learn, and love in this underserved and under-resourced community. There are various ways you can serve the IMPACT Fairfax community, including weekend worship services, Wednesday night community meals, small group teaching/activities (geared towards children) and other special events throughout the year.

IMPACT OLD SOUTHSIDE

IMPACT Old Southside shares the hope and love of Jesus with those living in the old southside neighborhood in Indianapolis near downtown. Along with Dinner Church, there are tons of activities taking place at this campus each week, including Youth Nights, a Food Co-Op, Bible Studies as well as seasonal events that you can be a part of throughout the year.

BIG NIGHT OUT

Big Night Out is an unforgettable in-person dance party experience for people with special needs. This annual event will give guests and their caregivers, family, and friends the opportunity to make memories with each other, with God’s love at the center. Volunteers, honored guests and their caregivers always have a night to remember! Throughout the evening you will encounter special characters including Spider-Man, Mario, Frozen cast favorites and more. As guests move through the night at their own pace, there will be plenty of games, tattoo and hair stations, food stations, official and candid photo opportunities, commemorative medals, t-shirts, and of course – A HUGE DANCE FLOOR!

ONLINE CAMPUS

MPCC Online is an extension of our church, reaching out to people who live out of state or even out of the country as well as those who aren't ready to return to in-person worship. This interactive online worship experience enables people to participate and become part of Mount Pleasant wherever they live! Join our MPCC Online serving team by becoming an MPCC Online Host or an MPCC Online Prayer Team Member.

FOSTER CARE AND ADOPTION MINISTRY

The purpose of Foster Care and Adoption Ministry is to IMPACT the world one child, one family, and one opportunity at a time. The Foster Care and Adoption Ministry seeks to accomplish its mission by equipping, enlisting, and empowering the people of Mount Pleasant Christian Church to defend vulnerable children domestically and internationally through adoption, foster care, and global orphan care opportunities. You can get involved in this area of ministry by attending one of our events, and learning about the many aspects of global orphan care.

SOUL CARE & COUNSELING

Our Soul Care Ministry provides an oasis of hope for times of weariness and brokenness on your journey. We offer a variety of helping relationships and healing communities to help you acquire and display the character of Christ in the midst of the difficulties, problems, or pain in which you find yourself.

You can join this team by helping lead different types of groups, or even mentoring other married couples.

STUDENT MINISTRY TEAM (5TH-8TH GRADES)

We have two weekly worship services for our 5th through 8th graders that meet in our Student Ministries Center, located on the south side of Mount Pleasant Christian Church’s Community Life Center. Our services include games, worship, prayer, videos, fun, communion, Bible teaching and stations to help students process and apply the teaching to their lives. We also have a variety of activities outside of the weekend from NERF Wars and Double-Dog-Dare-A-Thon, to weekend retreats, conferences and service projects. Be a part of the Welcome Team, serve on the Worship/Production team, or sign-up to help at Special Events. We also have Small Groups that meet on Sunday evenings in the main church building. Small group leaders are needed to help share the faith with our students.

STUDENT MINISTRY TEAM (9TH-12TH GRADES)

The transition from early adolescence to young adulthood is important to us. More than equipping students for their futures, we are equipping them with more knowledge of God’s Word, a better understanding of themselves, and where they specifically fit into God’s Kingdom. The High School Ministry at Mount Pleasant provides a place for students to transform into adults while providing a firm foundation for a strong, lifelong relationship with Jesus Christ. Engage is filled with worship, fun, games, small group learning and a teaching time by High School Pastor Matt Pineda. Engage meets every Sunday from 6-7:30pm in the Student Ministries Center and is open to all students in 9th through 12th grade. Be a part of the Welcome Team or Worship/Production Team, or serve as a Small Group Leader or Special Event volunteer.

STUDENT MINISTRY TEAM (COLLEGE-AGE)

The College Age Ministry at Mount Pleasant provides a place for young adults to cultivate community with others in the same life stage as them. Our hope is to create a safe space for them to learn, grow and develop into the person God has created them to be. This group is open to anyone ages 18-23 and the group typically meets on Tuesday evenings from
7-8:30pm. Join this ministry as a Small Group Leader.

WOMEN’S MINISTRY

No matter your age, and no matter where you are in your walk with faith, MPCC Women’s Ministry has a place for you to get connected, build relationships, deepen your faith, and grow in your relationship with Christ. Our Women’s Ministry addresses issues specific to women through Bible studies, mentoring groups, special events, and service opportunities. MPCC women’s theme verse is from Proverbs 31:25 which says, “She is clothed in strength and dignity; she can laugh at the days to come.” A woman of God lives a confident, God-honoring life that brings glory to Him. Bible Study leaders, child care workers during women’s events, special service projects, making hats and blankets for chemotherapy patients, and retreat and special events leaders are all part of our Women’s Ministry volunteer needs.

WORSHIP

Here at MPCC, we embrace compelling worship. We believe that genuine, heartfelt worship is the Biblical response of grateful hearts to a loving and merciful God. Our worship team and band help us to experience a quality worship experience on the weekends. Auditions are required for positions on this team.

WORSHIP PRODUCTION MINISTRY

We utilize the latest in audio, lighting, video, and media programming for our worship services here at MPCC. There’s a lot that goes on behind the scenes at our services, and it only happens with the help of staff and volunteers who are willing to go above and beyond to make the message accessible and provide the best environment for worship and the message.
